Trunk Panel Question. Interchangable 1996-1997?

Hi Im wondering if any body work guys can tell me if the Trunk Panel from a 1996 will fit into a 1997? They are two differenty styles of panels, but they SHOULD fit since this is the same gen of rolla. The 1997 panel looks like this:



The 1996 Panel looks like this:



Anybody know for sure? I was going to call some dealers to find out.

Actually the first one is a '93-'95 base and DX garnish, the second is a '96-'97 DX/LE garnish. All 4 styles of U.S./Canadian E10 garnishes will swap between all '93-'97s, though the two '96-'97 types (with red/clear taillamps) will not match up with the lines on the '93-'95 taillamps (red/amber), and vice versa, and thus look a bit off to all but the casual observer.

The pic on the top is the type I have on my corolla, and i have a 96.

If you have one exactly like the top pic, it's been replaced... The '96-'97 gray garnish is smoother and shaped a bit differently from the '93-'95. Example: http://www.gemrecorp.com/LB/0511-96-...A/PA010026.JPG

Yeah, he's right.

Also tail lights of 96-97 models are different I believe. One of them has a more "clear" reverse light than the other which is more "white".

Other than looks however, all the panels and tail lights are interchangeable.
