getting sick of my folgers can, want to make some changes i bought some U bends and im looking for a muffler, but i cant seem to find anything with good flow and quieter, something like a G35 type of sound level not silent just enough to know its there and a nice note when its opened up
Quiet and performace don't seem to go together!
My thinking is to use a 2.25" or 2.5" regular old chambered muffler possibly like a Lexus muffler with larger input and output than stock, then leave out a resonator?

I have a flowmaster can on my XRS, it growls down low and roars when I open it up, but it is not too loud and does not attract unwanted attention. It sounds nice inside as well as outside the car.
It's a flowmaster 40 series, I paid $155 installed at a local mieneke.

I was actually on flowmaster's site after my other post.. the 40 series are their loudest ones according to the chart.. the 50 and 60 series are actually quieter.

You sacrifice flow for quietness. The 40 series may be the loudest, but it is not too loud in any way.

Oh man, thats a ricey buzz....
I'd rather have a really quiet exhaust that doesnt grab attention and then I zoom past and people are like "WTF!" rather than "there comes another rice rocket"
That's exactly my point.. that's why I'm staying away from straight thru right now, I got one on the 89 GTS and its loud. I'm even thinking of getting something from another car. Like an IS300 or a 350Z/G35 or any other OEM performance car mufflers.
My Bad... I had a listen again with headphones and it sounds MUCH better. Originally I thought it was ricey but that was because of my laptop speakers.
