I know a guy who's father in law can get make CF hoods for approx $500CAD a pop. I'm going to try and wrangle some more info out of him, like questions about latches, rolled/cut edges, etc. The catch? He needs a $250 deposit from each person and a hood to make the initial mold out of. Oh, and at least 4+ people committed for it. (IE, 4+ people's deposit)
Oh, and whoever supplies the initial hood is supposed to get a discount.
in the meantime here's some pics of a Suzuki Swift hood he made.
I'll let you guys know more info as I get it. I'm going to try and meet up with the guy to take a look at the hood myself. If I don't like the quality, I'm just going to abort. Otherwise, I'll start figuring out how to get the money together.
Its there any way he can make a GTZ Carbon Fiber hood. If so I am in and if not I am still in for a regular CF AE92 hood! Let me know the details and when the deposits are needed. I am going to the junkyard next weekend so I can look for an extra hood to send for a mold!!

i have a 86 hood to supply, but i'm not in the market for a cf hood, yet. but um, is the surface of the hood wavey like all those generic wannabe crappy quality CF hoods? from the top pic, the reflection is very even, so i suspect this guy should be making pretty good quailty hoods. but without seeing the actual product in person, i don't want to commit
I'm going to try and meet up with the guy who made the hood, and one of the guys who bought one to take pics. The guy used to make boats with this stuff, but then retired. I suspect these parts will be quality.
Ok, you know what guys? If you can figure out how to ship a hood, I'll do it. Naturally, the price of shipping will be on top of the price of the hood.
