2000 Corolla and she has a problem with the power windows. After rolling down sometimes, the window will not go up, but if you wait 3 min, it doesn't have a problem going up......weird..... Does anyone have any advice?

when you roll it down, do you continue to hold the buttom after its all the way down?

is this the driver or passenger window?

if it is the passenger window, can you use the driver switch without having problems?

Need some more info on this?

Driver side, it will roll down just fine but not roll up the car only has 73k on it. I think that the regulator just needs to be replaced. But if I wait like 3 min it doesn't have any trouble rolling up at all. Swapping it out seems like a possibility but lots of work. YES MORE INPUT!!

could be bad contacts in the switch or a motor going out.

Mine goes down and then it takes 10-20 times over an hour to get it back up again.

Seems like the motor is going out......bad....the car only has 72k.

dont wanna hijack your thread, but mine does almost the same thing, but its on my passenger side, its a 1994 corolla, the window goes down fine, but if you press the window button and HOLD it there to roll up the window, it would stall, then go up, stall, go up, stall, go up, etc, BUT this only happens if you press the button on the passenger side, when i press the button on the driver's side to make the passenger side's window roll up, it doesn't stall at all, is this a bad contact on the passenger's side?

and shouldn't the motor last the life of the car? this is the first time i've heard of a bad power window motor going out

Yep, it sounds like a bad contact in the button on the passenger side. I wish there was 2 different buttons for the drivers window. Maybe I will switch out a button.... The power windows (if maintained) should last the lifetime of the car. A good maintence procedure is to take some q-tips dip in alcohol with the window down, wipe inside the upper track with the q-tips and you will see what kind of stuff gets in there. Next, spray some silacone in there to lube and you have it (easy breezeee japaneeze....) cheap and worthwhile. It actaully helps a lot especially in older cars with power windows.

Hi,

The power window on the Front Driver (left) side of my car does not come up after the window has been put down. Initially this used to happen when the window was brought down in auto mode. Now this problem is begining to occur on a regular basis and the car needs to be switched off for 2mins and then it the window takes 2/3 tries before it is fully closed.
Appreciate any help/suggestion on this.
