Question how to diagnose without a check engine light???

i want to check if there are any codes coming out of my ecu, but my gauge panel has no check engine light. i can buy one but it is too expensive.

how to i check for codes? i know the diagnostic box and short e1 and te1... but how do i see them codes?

Have a look on www.Club4ag.com under tech referance they have ECU pin-outs for all computers.Just wire up a light to the correct pin then follow the normal procedure, an LED would be best since they are low current and won't bolw any fuses if done wrong.

Hope that helps and that its the right ECU pin-out.

Cheers Rob
