Canada ~[HELP]~ Rear License Plate Bulb installation

I have an '03 CE.

I attempted to change the light bulb for the rear license plate. However, i failed to pull the socket out after removing the "wool" cover part of the trunk which covered the socket. Do I just pull the socket out ? Or is there any tricks to it ? I chekced the manual and it says i should not attempt to do it myself. However, i do think that is the case since im on the last step already.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If anyone is willing to help me install it, it'd also be extremely helpful

Thanks guys ~!

I looked thru the FSM CD I have, looks like you have to remove the cover from the outside of the vehicle.

1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LOCK CYLINDER & KEY SET(See Page 76–16)
2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR GARNISH OUTSIDE(See Page 76–16)
3. REMOVE LICENSE PLATE LAMP ASSY
(a) Pull the license plate light assy to the side of vehicle as
shown in the illustration and release the claw.
(b) Disconnect the connector and remove the license plate
light assy.

This seems pretty excessive just to change the bulb though, I assume you tried twisting the socket to remove it already?

Thumbs up

I just changed mine on my 03 S. The socket doesn't pull straight out, it twists like the headlight. twist-then-pull.

Probably counter clockwise, only way to know for sure is to go out and try it!

I just changed mine, I tried to turn it out but it was like froze(or I was turning it the wrong way) and I was afraid to break it so I just popped(just snaps out) the whole light fixture out the front to get a good grip on it...After that it was a simple put back in and its counter clock wise removal....good luck...Radd Guy...

got them installed. $8 bucks...

The light is white, i did the white paper test. However with the reflection of the blue letters on the plate make it look kinda blueish white.

Post pics later

Lol...You paid $8 to get them installed I hope you changed both bulbs to the "blueish" look ....I bought the bulb for 45 cents at a store and it took me 10 minutes to install....You must be rich because that $8 would have bought me a 12pk of MGD.......~Radd Guy~
