I use 10w 30 (recommended in the owners manual) mobile one synthetic and I used 91 octane. Probably sounds stupid to people without the 4af engine but it doesn't run right on 87. 89 is a little better.
I have a 1989 4af

Yeah.. 10W30 for summer 5W30 for winter unless you live in the tropics then a thicker oil will be better. For octane, 4AFEs don't require any special fuel so regular is fine.

10W oils get solid at -18C, so if you have temps lower than that, take 5W

i use a little thicker oil now, 10w40, and its winter here and cold as heck, my car seems to handle it well, i was using 10w30 during the summer and when my car heated up real good (2+ hrs of driving) i would hear a gasping sound from my engine, switched to 10w40, and dont hear that sound anymore
