AE92 so i installed a new headunit but....

yeah so i got a new head unit and new speakers all around. bought a pioneer premier deh-p770mp headunit alpine 4" speakers for the front, 5x7" type r componet speakers in the back(need for custom fit). but to the question i installed the head unit fine ect cept for one wire its a green wire that is not the front left speaker wire. now i also have another wire from the head unit its a like lighting wire or somthing is this the same thing should i splice these two together??

on my ae92 its a blue and green wire from the car and a orange one from the deck. Those would be your dimmer wires.

i have an ae92 sr5. when i installed my head unit i just snipped the green wire and left it. there really isn't any use for it in my opinion.

Green is usually a chassis ground wire,but with the adapters it is grounded through that. BLu e wire on mine was dimmer and ornage was for cell phone muting if it was hookesd through stereo system. Hope that helps

i found that if you used the green wire as a ground, when you turn your headlights on, you lose the ground and your head unit shuts down.

haha well that means its the illumiation wire ok well im going to hook it up cause i want to see if i like my head unit to dim. plus canadian its not hard at all to strip the wires and hook them up that way.
