C56 final drive

currently have a C56 in my car took a gamble and ended up with the 4.312 final. My engine is just spinning to fast on the highway 3000 @100km.
transmission seems to be working well, is it possible to put a 3.72 final in it from a C52 and if so do i need special tools to do so

That's not bad actually.. my C52 does 4000 at 120km/h

You'd probably be able to put the final gear on, I'd look at the other transmission and see how difficult it is to take it out.

All C-series final drives will swap if you swap the entire bellhousing/axle assembly.

C52 and C56 have the same 1st, 2nd, and 5th gears, it's 3rd and 4th that are a bit shorter... BTW, in an AE102 with 185/65R14 tyres, C52 with 3.722 differential, the engine will be spinning 2890 rpm at an ACTUAL 60 mph (my speedometer indicates ~67 mph at an actual (radar verified) 60 mph. I have the gearing breakdown of nearly every C-series transmission, C40/140, C50/150-C59, C60/160-C66 (C161 and 162 excluded), so if anyone needs it, just tell me what you need and I'll be happy to oblige.

How about posting them.. I found a website that has Toyota transmissions and their gearing but it doesn't have all the series on it.

Here goes... keep in mind that a C## transmission will have the same gear ratios as a C1## transmission... wherever possible, I tell whether a C## and/or C1## was available for that particular ratio set, but that doesn't mean that one can't exist... All C-series transmissions have a 3.250 reverse gear ratio, new generation C55# notwithstanding; they use a 3.214 reverse and 3.944 axle ratio exclusively.

C40/C140

C60/C160

C161 and 162: any help here?

C63
3.166 1.904 1.310 1.031 0.864 0.725

C64
3.166 2.050 1.481 1.166 0.916 0.815

3.545 1.913 1.310 1.027 0.850

Among the available axle ratios of the C-series:
3.526 3.722 3.941 4.058 4.312 4.529

"A" denotes a transmission with fully automated clutch and gearchange, which Toyota calls "Multi-Mode," MMT, or T-Shift5. "M" denotes a sequential manual model (SMT), similar to MMT but without a full automatic mode (all gear changes must be initiated by the driver). "K" denotes a transmission with automatic clutch, but manual gearchange. This is known as "Freetronic".
