question for manual transmission

you know that sound when you are in reverse in a manual transmission car, is it ok to entirely let go of the clutch and just press down on the gas and completely drive in reverse?? will it do any harms to the clutch, tranny? the reverse sound will stay constant, and it sounds even more when you press down on the gas, is this normal? or shouldn't you be in reverse too long in a manual car? thanks

The sound is caused due to straight-cut gears for reverse rather than the helical gears for all your forward gears. If you like that sound so much, just replace all your gears with straight cut gears.

The reason for the sound is because with straight cut gears, the teeth are only in contact with each other for a small portion of rotation. When the slave gear comes in contact with the powered gear, there is noise generated by the engaging contact. This is amplified by the idler gear
Helical gears are always in contact with each other, so little noise is generated.
