AE86 F20C swap for AE86

Just seeing if anyone knows if someone has tried it. Im sure ut will fit but do you think you would have to swap the rear axle as well. The 4AGE is a great engine but seeing as how the F20C makes 250 hp stock with close to 200ft/lbs of torque and is set for FR format id figure id do a little research. So post away

Contact Gabriel Tyler from TechnoToy Tuning in California. They've done that swap already. As for the rear axle, you could use a Celica/Supra axle and get a custom driveshaft made. I don't know if the S2000's is IRS. It probably is, and you'll need to do some fab work for it to fit.

wouldnt it be cheaper to use a 4agze engine then turbo it. If you run a f20c everything will be costume. If you break parts it will cost more. If you want that engine so bad why dont you just get a S2K???

240hp/200lbs. torque with NA OEM reliability... that's all there is to it!

goodluck Hachi Driven... you better have a deep pocket coz it won't be cheap. you can also contact adamturbo from Dori-Kaze, he's doing a similar swap for another DK member.

The problem is people always think "what if!" without knowing what they be getting into.. the F20C motor will probably run you about $7-8000 and that's just a rough estimate. Now if you can afford to pay that motor, I'm sure you can afford to pay for the installation and custom built who knows what for it. If you got the money, go for it! I myself would rather do a 1JZ or even a 3SGTE swap.

yeah you'll get oem realiability, but everything is custom work. Why drop a $7-8,000 on an engine on a $2,000 dollar car? Like what I said might as well get a S2K. You can get a 00' model for like $15.000.

Why you dont think an S2K is a fun car?? Looks alot better than an AE86 also.

That's a purely subjective statement. I personally prefer the box type look of the older cars, even if they're not aerodynamically inclined, in comparison to the newer cars.

And yes, an s2k is a fun car to drive.

i guess you're one of those rich car owners. unfortunately, not everyone has $15K in their bank accounts. me personally, the main reason i like doing custom mods is coz it's fun. i've had the same mind set since i'm 10yrs. old when my dad build a rally sec '73 Mitsu Colt. what's the fun on dumping $15K on car from a dealer? and then you have to worry about insurance company killing you for your monthly premium.

Evil Corolla S... the only toyota engine that can compete with the F20/22C is the BEAMS 3S-GE. we're talking 200+whp on NA trim. unfortunately the 3S is heavier and harder to find. and about the 2JZ, yeah try fitting that on an AE86 and you'll find out that the F20C is actually easier.

Considering the 2JZ has 2 extra cylinders.. yeah, I'd imagine it be easier to go for an F20/22C. I would still go with a 7MGTE or a 1JZ/2JZ swap though. But a more realistic choice (Aside from 20V or GZE swaps) would probably be a 3SGE/GTE.
