FMIC... Work in Progress

finally we got to start working on the FMIC... just thought i'd share some pix

the intercooler... dunno where it came from but the inlet and outlet are flanged. it also comes with an air temp sensor (i think...)

top part of the piping.. thinking of doing some revisions...

had to make a bigger hole on the passenger side, behind the headlight, for the pipe to run through...

the intercooler tied to the bumper braket so we can measure how much pipe we need...

all in all, the pipings pretty much done. left them at the shop for polishing. we'll do the install next week.

corolla forum, supercharger, old engine. if its not a 4agze its not right :P

yes it looks smal, but that does look quite thick.

lets hope you dont run into idle problems. many a gze with fmic's have lots of idle problems because of the longer pipe run.

i believe the problem mainly derives on AFM based engines..... i think it has to do with the fact that the s/c is in vacuum at idle and the afm might not open up much since it will be harder to get air through the system.....

Shouldnt be the issue, because air is a constant amount in the tubing.
I was led to believe 4A-GZE's were map sensored.

Oh I see.. hmmh, well still the afm shouldnt be a problem, unless you have an intake leak or put some sort of blowoff/relief valve that vents to the atmo. Aslong as its airtight after the AFM, no problemos

there is one (the ABV.... 'air bypass valve') but it's post-supercharger

again, the problem is only an idle problem.... most say that with an FMIC and a gze the car usually runs better/faster when on the throttle
