Question AE102 Turbo Kit

Hi,

I'm new on these forums, and i'm after a bit of advice
I'm based in the UK and I have an AE102 Corolla GXI, not sure what the model is in other countries, so a pic of mine is below

It has the 7AFE engine, and is 118 BHP standard, but i would like some more power
I've seen this kit http://www.turbo-kits.com/corolla_turbo_kits.html for my car, and i was wondering if anybody on here is running this kit on their Corolla?
If so, how have you found it? and did you get anywhere near the 56% power increase claimed?

Thanks in advance and for reading

Mike

Since you're in the UK, I'd contact Fensport about power additions.

Lovely GXi btw... I've been wanting a 3E5 (Lucifer Red) one for the longest time.... We don't get any of the E10 hatchbacks or liftbacks here in the U.S. and Canada... closest we got to one was the E9 liftback with a different face, sold here as a Geo Prizm.

Don't waste your time with that turbo kit... everyone I've heard of who bought that thing has said it's incomplete and the missing bits are nigh on impossible to find. BTW, if you're looking for more UK-based owners, you can check out www.toyotaownersclub.com... most of them are from the UK (I'm there too, but I'm still in the US)....

Thanks for the replies, i've already contacted Fensport, they seem to be more into engine transplants, which i would love, but can't quite afford at the moment
RedAE102 - i'm actually already on TOC, under the same username

I'd just wait to get enough money to swap in a real engine, like a 3S-GTE

Yeah i'd love that, but ive been told its a hell of a lot of money to go that route, even though the results are pretty spectacular

Think im gonna go for the 4A-GZE when funds allow it just thought id see if a turbo kit would make a good alternative...

no its not that expensive, if you get a used engine of a totalled Celica turbo from an ST185 would be neat.

I think a commercial turbokit is too expensive for the gains it gives. Heck just making your own would cost a shitload less.
