For the longest, anytime I went thru heavy rain and hit some large puddles, my 2001 Corolla S would make this weird almost gurgle noise that sounded like water or something got into the exhaust or engine, but very quickly went away.
About 2-3 months ago, I started hearing the same noise when accellerating hard on tight turns. Now I am hearing this sound when accellerating hard at most times.
I have yet to find somebody I can trust with my vehicle, as the local dealership seems to have real boobs working there, and other places don't even know the car's layout as well as I do.
I read in other forums of same sound in rain, and turned out to be a leak in exhaust seal. But nothing about it in dry weather.
I was hoping somebody has some good guesses on this one. One of my first thoughts was low transmission fluid causing some air to get in causing that noise, but my fluid is fine and still looks new. But the noise has a fluid type noise or pattern to it. I am thinking some fluid is getting air mixed in with higher Gs and then settles. I am pretty sure it's not the engine, becuase I can put it in neurtal and rev it when it's doing it, and it stops untill I accellerate in gear again.
BTW, still have that error P0420 code, but I'm replacing the converter and sensors soon to fix that one. Wonder if there is a connection by some chance? I do have a belt tensioner issue ( other thread), but that doesn't sound like the same noise to me.
If only I had a reliable dealer to goto locally
