Question Reversed Battery Terminals Nightmare!!!! HELP! Please!

My sister in laws 1993 corolla would not start one morning. We jumped it and took to a local farm and equipment place. The short of it is they sold us the wrong battery, installed it with the negative and positive terminals reversed and things are now very screwed up.

I replaced the 100A alternator fusable link (the one that is bolted in) and it starts and runs fine now BUT...

The turn signals don't work (I tried the fuses, the bulbs and and the flasher to no avail)
The Hazards don't work
Te SRS airbag light is lit (tried to reset the computer with the wire ground trick and it reset but it came right back on, tried all the possible fuses as well)
The rear defroster does not work (tried the fuses as well)

Are there any fusible links, or relays that might be inline and causing all of these symptoms together? I've read abgou tsome that come off of the positive battery cable?

You need to get a wiring diagram for your car. Thats the best way to see whats wrong.

you checked all the fuses in all the fuse boxes?

1. under the hood on the right side

2. driverside kickpanel

3. passengerside kickpanel **usually missed** has 2 fuses
-have to remove plastic door sill, pull up across door and remove nut thing in the footwell

if your still not seeing progress id start looking at the relays in the effected systems maybe get a second set from the scrap yard and try them..

I'll give it a shot

Hey guys thanks for the suggestions. I found a thread on another site that wasn't too encouraging! Big bucks and lots of work. I haven't checked the passenger side kick panel, so I'll give that a shot. The relays in the main fuse block are all well labeled (right side under the hood) but I've found others (ie. drivers side kick panel above the fuses by the flasher.). Does anyone know where to find info on the systems that EACH RELAY is related to?

Finally, what is the nature of the relays? Is there a fillament in them like a fuse that will blow when a dummy hooks the battery up wrong? Could this cause them to fail?

Thanks,

Johnvoni
