Yup. Well coil springs are technically coilovers, but fully adjustable coilovers mean that the springs are height adjustable and the shocks rebound and dampening adjustable.

If you're asking about the cheap "adjustable coilovers" that are available on eBay, those are, for lack of a better description, complete crap in my opinion. They give an overly bouncy ride, and in a few cases, I've seen the springs move around and end up wedged diagonally in between the strut mount and spring seat, an extremely dangerous condition.

But, if you're asking about the *good* coilovers that Flashmn is talking about, they're great... these replace the entire strut and spring assembly and have threaded adjustable spring seats cast into the strut body itself, not just sitting in a spring seat intended for a standard spring or decent lowering spring. Expect to pay dearly for the *good* coilovers. A few of the good brands include TEIN, JIC, TRD, Cusco, and my personal favourite, Öhlins. There are numerous other ones available, but these are probably among the best known and most reputable ones.

Yeah, if you're gonna lower your car go with a decent set of springs. Don't buy those cheap coilover kits from Ebay.. good coilover kits cost up to $2000.
