Winter is here!!

hey guys, winter is finally here in the U.S, and snow is just about everywhere, this morning i went to start my car and it seemed to start a little harder than usually, i would have to crank it about 2 more seconds longer to start the car. I was wondering if my 94 corolla cranks the same during warm months and cold months?? i've heard there is a cold starter that works when you turn on the key and crank it, but doesn't work if it's not cold enough?? something like this?? Also, any tips for taking care of these corollas in the Winter would be greatly appreciated, thank you thank you

Make sure you have the proper oil in there, and your battery is it good condition.

There is no alternate cold start except the car will automatically "choke" in cold weather. The starter does the same thing no matter the temp. though, it just takes longer because it takes more energy to start a cold motor.

Would using a thinner oil be good in the cold season?

yeah.. thinner oil in the winter makes it easier for the car to get to a decent temperature faster. Most likely 5W-30 is your best bet if you live in sub-arctic areas like the Northern US states and Canada.
