Exclamation 2000 ve runnong bad (help)

i have a 2000 ve and ever since i had it the check engine light has been on and after a cold start even in the summer when i put it in drive it barely go's and act like its gonna cut off and sometimes do when i give it gas. when im on the highway and i floor it the car go's nowhere but if i let my foot off just a bit it starts to pull. not to mention that gas mileage sucks! has anyone ever had this problem? and know how to fix it? cause im driving to vegas at the end of dec and this has to be fixed. thanks!

Does autozone still read the codes for free? You might want to try to call your local stores
