I am never buying used car parts online again.

I don't know about you guys but I have had nothing but bad luck buying used parts online. I have bought a ton of stuff online in the past 2 years but whenever i buy used parts it is always a dissaster.

I just got stung again by renwed import out of calgary. They seem like a legitamite company but I have never dealt with a business this bad. They were advertising a parts car on ebay and said to email them for specific parts. Well I sent them money with paypal for various body parts and they ripped me off. Worst thing is there is nothing you can do about it, nobody seems to care about online fraud.

First they told me they shipped the parts with kindersly transport. Then about a month and a half later they told me that kindersly had damaged one of the parts, returned the shipment to their warehouse and lost all the paper work. Well ok, I told them to just ship what was left again. Well 2 months later and still nothing, they told me they sent the parts out again, but when I called kindersly they said nothing was coming to my name or address and nothing even from their name or address. So I called the guy at renewed import back and asked him for the tracking number, then he hung up on me. I tried again later and when I identifed myself he told me I had the wrong number. I checked the number in my call log and it was right.

I called them like 80 times and only got through maybe 8 times. When you finally get a hold of the guy he tell you he will call you right back and then never does. I left probably 20 messages and they just won't call back. They won't even respond to emails anymore, I sent them a fake email from a different address inquiring about some parts and I got a response right away.

A while ago I bought a used set of rims and tires from somebody in toronto. Well he sent me pictures of them when they were brand new. When I got them they were a dissaster, They had been painted with a spray can and paid was flaking off everywhere. THe rims were severelly bent and the tires were even missmatched. When I tried to contact him he stoped responding.

So basically I am never buying used auto parts online again... It's just not worth it

Has anybody else expierenced the samething buying used parts online

Doesn't eBay and Paypal have protection against fraud like this?

Did you ever pay with a credit card? If so then you have recourse. File a complaint with the CC company and they'll reverse the charges (and probably cut the other guy off). I went this route once with an on-line vendor because they lied and refused contact. So I @#$ them in the arse with the CC company.

Basically, deal with repudible people and local. This is exactly why I like to "see" and "touch" the merchandise before I buy.

Ya, I guess I'll have to be a little more careful in the future. I wasn't too familar with paypals buyer protection rules until after this happened. Ah well I guess I've gotten enough good deals to more than make up for a few bad ones. I just found it frusrating that there seems to be more dishonesty when dealing with used car parts. Thanks and good luck to all you online buyers...
