USA 00' Corolla dashboard bulb

Hello All,

I have a 2000 corolla with its first major problem. The central bulb on the dashboard dosent work. I have checked the fuses and they seem alright. I think that there are three bulbs that light up the oil level and tachometer and the central one does not light up.

I have joined this forum in the hope that it would help me fix it.

Thanks!

very easy fix. remove the three bolts on the black instrument cover shroud.
next remove the for bolts holding the instrument. unplug the three connectors behind the instrument cluster. note* to release the connectors push down on the tabs and pull on the connector housing. The bulbs should have matching colors. you will know when you have the right one because it will have a green cover over it. to remove the bulb turn cover counter clockwise. if you want to change the color of your dashlights just remove the bulb covers. and you will have a white dash. good luck.

I tried to get to the dashboard cluster. I found just one bolt...there are not other bolts that i could loosen and I could not get to the cluster. I now have a new problem, my car revs up but take some time to start....i am told that it could be something to do with pressure and fuel injector and replacing that will cost me $400.00....I think I am doomed!

Tilt your steering wheel all the way down. You'll find 2 phillips head screws on the top of the black plastic cover that's covering the cluster assembly. Kind of a pain to get the cover out around the steering wheel. Then you'll find 4 phillips screws holding the cluster assembly in place, 2 on top, 2 on the bottom. Then pull cluster straight out. There will be 3 or 4 wire harness plugs you'll have to unplug. All the idiot lights are the small #1895 bulbs. The larger green shaded bulbs are larger ones, 3 or 4 of them. 5 minute job.
