Lightbulb 4a-f rolla

Hey just wondering about mods for the toyota 4a-f engine.

Ive just purchased a 1991 corolla gl and ive been thinking about modding it, is there any mods i can do to it to give it a bit more grunt that are fairly inexpensive? Im not looking for alot of power maybe another 20hp, wat can i do to this car?

I have the same motor and let me tell you modding the 4A-F takes patience and alot of research. So far on my car I have built my own cold air intake out of 2 1/2 piping and a cone filter mount in the fender well. ($100) I also have a MSD Power tower (Converts to external coil) and Blaster coil ss ($75 w/ shipping) that I haven't installed yet and in the near future I plan on ordering a Pacesetter header ($250 w/shipping) and redoing the exhaust with 2 3/4 inch piping. ($150) I also advanced my timing a few degrees. ($Free) I figure with those changes I should be able to make a respectable 120-130 hp. If that is not enough I believe Flashmn is working on a turbo kit that is suppose to put out 170hp!!

yes but if you live any where that the temp hits 30 degrees then his set up will work like shit. The rebreather uses hot air to warm up the engine quicker so this cold air intake is useless if you live in cold air climates. I would suggest new carberatur. And a exhaust to help out your engine if anything. If not take the clip off after the rebreather from the carb intake thats what i did draws alot more air in.
