poor acceleration

Hi All,

I have a problem with my 92 5 speed corolla, it accelerates well in the first 5 minutes when I start the car every morning. After the first 5 minutes, the car moves very slow when I hit the gas pad, hardly feel the acceleration, and the engine rpm goes very high when I hit the gas pad. The car eventually well go up to 100 KM/H, but the accelearation keeps very poor.
Any idea?

Thanks.

the reason why your car go faster when you start it is becuz the normal RPM for cold start is roughly about 2100 to 2400.....if the ECT (engine coolant temperature) reaches a certain temp, it lowers the RPM.. for easier starting and quicker for the engine to go up to normal operating temp.
keep in mind for future vehicle.
