Hey guys, you were probably asked this question before, BUT!!! here it is again. what would i need in order to run a 20V silvertop with open throttlebodies. i know that the AFM does not allow it to do so, and that i would have to get the MAF from the blacktop, but is that the only thing, or do i need 2 do something completely different. i read up, but just confused myself, feel really stupid help out if you can. thanks
OH!, and also, i was wondering if anyone would have detailed wiring diagrams for the 20V silvertop. last thing i need 2 get my 86 on the road.
In addition, because my corolla is gutted, i have some interrior parts that you guys can take off me. i have some seats, probably only 1 spare, the driver one. and most of the interrior panels, and trim. if interested just PM me, or e-mail, or give a call on the cell.
Go thru ALL the trouble of trying to wire up that 20V OR pay Ryan aka kpsxtyone, mr 20V connosieur to do the wiring for you and be a happy man in a few days. I'd go with the second choice.
or do megasquirt on your own...... build it yourself, wire it up yourself.... can be done in about a week and at a cost of $300 or less depending on how you go about doing it
and you'll learn a ton

i'd go with a local too. just in case theres a problem with the wiring, i can get him to look at it right away. Ryan's doing a whole bunch of wiring conversion from club4ag, dori-kaze and here. he's an excellent guy!

actualy, the reason why i'm NOT doing my own wiring is time and place. i don't have either of those. i'm replying to the post at work. My corolla has been sitting for over a year, its pissing me off, and everyone promisses to help and do the wiring (from the people i know) the last 2 shops i took it to said yeah yeah, we'll do it dont' worry, the place i did co-op at said the same thing, ended up doing jack shit but spray painting my car, which i lost it on them for, but anyway. Rite now my car is at another shop,. and this guy said he knows what he's doing. so i took it there, ends up he doesn't really know. so i have to sp00n feed him the wiring diagrams, for the 20V, the Wiring and grounding points on the 16V, and put it in a nice and neat package along with the instructions on HOW to do the actual motor swap (coutesey of www.club4ag.com), and he still seems to have a problem. SO!!!!, if this guy can't do it, i will take it to one of the re-commended people on the forum ( dont' know why i didn't do that in the first place) and for the price that you guys advertise, i can't go wrong.
I'll keep you guys posted, if this guy can't do it, i'll post again.
Or, better yet, the people that are able 2 do the 20V swap and wiring, if its possible for you guys to PM me, that would be great. Tnx!
Ryan is the god for wiring...he has done both my 86's, the first being a straight ST and on my new project ST w/ BT wiring and ecu...i will bet my car that he is one of the best wiring guys in Canada....you will be completly satisfied!!!...
and also he is a great guy!!!
