Brake noises
My 94 corolla, 89K miles, brakes squeal. In fact, it's been squealing (lightly) for years regardless the pads and rotors checked. Mechanics tell me just to live with it because the brakes are fine. Recently, the squealing got louder and I also hear grinding noises.
Specifically, when I lightly step on the brakes, light squealing heard. I step harder (more pressure) on brakes, squealing is gone. In harder/quicker stops, I hear grinding noises. I took it to a shop and they tell me the brakes are fine!
The pads are only 6mos old and there has never been any problem with stopping...just squealing and grinding noises. Any ideas?
