Hello all i'm a new guy here so please bare with me... ok i just bought a 05 Corolla XRS i'm looking to mod it up with bolt-ons etc. Well i know that there isn't alota Aftermarket parts for it yet, but i see some people with Cold Air intakes from Injen TRD, etc. , well i know that the car has a 2ZZGE, and all, well will the Matrix XRS TRD intake fit my car, or will the Celica GT-S intake fit my car cause Yes know that they have 2ZZGE's i really like AEM myself because of the air bypass valve, also headers i can't find $hit again, what fits what doesn't if any1 even makes them yet, if DC sports made a set of headers for my car know that be great but once again all Aftermarket companys seem to be sitting on there thumbs to bring this stuff out.......

Yeah i seen one from greddy i don't really like their products too well, i think with the exhaust i'll go with the TRD muffler and just get a 2.5" pipe from cat to muffler or maybe a Apexi muffler and due the which ever is cheaper, or better LoL.

Don't get the cosmo intake, it is right in the middle of your bumper, fully exposed to the elements and close to the ground.
Get the Injen intake for the 2004 Matrix XRS, it will slip on like a glove, and the filter is safely located inside of your bumper, right under your headlight. Check out www. 9th gen corolla .com, without the spaces, there is a sticky under the 2zz section on how to install it, with pictures

You're right about the headers, DC sports tried to make one for the celica and it actually caused a loss in power.
The great thing about the XRS exaust stock is that it is already 2" diameter, which is big enough for our 1.8L motor. All you need to do is get a less restrictive muffler spliced onto your stock midpipe and you will be good to go. I really noticed the difference when I had my flowmaster exaust installed. It pulled harder throughout the whole rev range. By the way I paid $150 for mine. The only issue with a new exaust is our body kit, it makes it hard to stick a muffler on and have it stick out the back. My solution was to have them put the new muffler on, hide it behind the body kit, and put a small turned down tip on it. I really did not want a big old lame shiny chrome tip sticking out my car's ass anyway. If you do have to have your muffler visible to the world, it is going to be really really close to the ground, so be careful.
Unless you go with the overpriced TRD/borla axle back, which has this little flacid pipe dangling down and back from the muffler, which looks absolutely rediculous.
Oh and don't believe claims of a "cat back" for the XRS, there is a hose running into our exaust way back by the rear axle, so anything that says "catback" is actually an axle back, which is no better than just splicing a muffler on.
I would recommend either a flowmaster flat muffler, or a magnaflow oval type. They fit really nicely on our stock system, and sound great, and make a big difference.
Good luck! And be sure to research this, exaust is not something to rush.
Oh yeah, and your car will sound like a friggin monster with the CAI, I almost had an accident in my pants the first time I hit lift I rarely break 4K rpms now, I have so much low end power.
edited to add: my flowmaster is the 40 series, it's not buzzy or ricey, just really really deep. I love long trips, listening to my music until I accelerate, it sounds like a high reving muscle car.

OK now i gotta get this Car hooked up, 2night i was drving home and i spanked a 240sx's ass it was turboed also, we went about an 1/8th mile and when that Lift kicked in OMG i was laughing, when you heard his blow off valve finally going off i was like later , thats what a N/A motor can do son (but when it's stock it's hiliarious), so now the only remaining questions i have now are what is the pipe inlet size for my Uni-Muffler, and second of all when i put my Injen CAI on am i gunna have to remove the front bumper to fit it on..? i hope not , Thanks again guys

The inlet needs to be 2" for the aftermarket muffler, with an offset inlet or you'll have trouble making it fit. Also the other poster was right about not getting a round can, those do sound horrible. I'd recomend magnaflow or flowmaster. Mieneke carries flowmaster, I got mine done there.
As far as the injen, a few things to remember:
1. You do have to take off the bumper, but it is really easy, as long as you take your time and don't force things. Just a few nuts, bolts, pop rivets, and the fog lights to remove. I can do it on and off in an hour. Besides the fact that it's in the bumper means you don't have to worry as much about hydro lock. I'd prefer a pain in the ass install to hydrolocking a $3000+ motor.
2. You'll need a 3/8" rubber cap to cover the nipple on the intake. The matrix has an extra hose that we don't have, so just plug this one off and you'll be fine.

sorry it looks goofey it would not work normally. Do a search there and you'll find tons of threads about the injen CAI. Or better yet register there and become a member, lots of XRS dudes.
4. Your car will kick ass, sound great, pull harder, and not throw a CEL if you follow the instructions at the other forum.
