Thank you all for your quick replies...
I'll deffinately be getting the Haynes as I already own the one for my other car and it rocks,
in your experience is it a long and hard procedure or just a simple one? and how long would it take on average?

i'm not experienced

but its not extremely difficult, altho becareful when you remove the pump, coz you're dealing with flammable substance, plus watchout for fumes and relieve the pressure

Awesom demon eyes TRD Dragon!,

Well why I'm asking is coz my bro was driving my corolla the other time and
as he was pressing the accelerator all of a sudden the engine revved but it wasn't accelerating, he had to pull over a nearby service station and the turned the car off for about 5 mins, then the car started fine, we had a mobile mechanic check it out and he tends to think the fuel pump is the culprit....any other ideas?

and be extremely careful with those fuel lines going into the filter, usually they are rusted and take a little of work to get off. but don't break those lines =D
the top one connecting to the fuel filter you don't have to worry as much about
cuz it's relatively hard(er atleast) to break

new question,

OE vs OEM, does it make a difference in Toyota's?
I went to the dealershop to purchase the fuel filter , unfortunately they ran out so they told me I could purchase the part from any auto store, well I normally stick with OE parts on my other car, will it make a difference in quality?

For certain parts I like to stick with OE Toyota, but for most like fuel/oil filters and brake pads I go with aftermarket parts.
