2006 Corolla Kicker OEM 10" Sub

Hey guys! First post! Awesome!

Anyways, I'm buying an '06 Corolla S and I want to add on the 10" Kicker sub stealthbox setup they have listed. Anyone have this? How does it sound?

Any/all help greatly appreciated!

Gotcha.

Thanks for the reply man. Anyone else have the oem sub installed?

Also, anyone have an aftermarket head unit installed in place of the factory original in an 03+ Corolla? Any pics?

Thanks!

Yup - I have it installed. Sounds good. Only issue is that the stock deck doesn't have three pre-outs so you can't adjust the sub output (ie: turn it off) other than shifting the entire radio sound to the "rear".

But I love how I have a sub that doesn't cripple my trunk.

Nice man! That's awesome. I'm ordering it up in my 06 S.

Does it come with an amp or something? Hidden in and around somewhere? It must. That enclosure and sub could always be utilized later on with a more serious system is what I'm thinking too.

Always gotta think about down the road and future mods I guess.

I've had a hard time gettin' info back on this setup using the famous Search button. This is good to read!

Neat! First I've heard of this option. Very cool. But, is it all weird OEM wiring? I mean, if you did change the headunit, could you still use the sub?

Does anyone know how much will it cost for the Kicker sub? I want to buy just the sub/amp combo. Don't need to get it installed.

The sub does come with a small amp and all the wiring. And yeah it will work with an aftermarket head unit. If fact, it will work better if there are 3x pre-outs rather than 2.

As for price, it's not cheap. MSRP on the sub/amp combo is a hefty $569 but see what you can do for negotiation - esp. if part of new car delivery. Expect the dealer to charge 1.0 hours labour since they have to run the wiring to the dash (not as easy as it sounds).

The Corolla 2003-2006 part number should be C0099-12044. Verify first because even I make boo-boo's.

Yup. But like I said - negotiate that price since we all know the margins on Dealer accessories.

I thought that's the price including installation. The actual part price should be lower than that. Unless of course you can custom mould a sub box for less.

Nope - believe it or not, the parts price is $569. The installed price is $651. Stupid level of markup on that - which is why they probably don't sell many. So yes, NEGOTIATE with the dealer on that one and save yourself a few C-notes.
