USA Tranny flush

I'm getting near 120,000 miles on my 98......and have heard mixed reviews on transmission flushes. Anyone have some insight on this. The dealer price is like 99 but we have a 15% off coupon if I take it in on monday.....I have heard that sometimes they can hurt the tranny if they don't get all the little metal particles out....Help?

I take it you car has an automatic transmission. I do know one thing though, less matal shards are better than more! And also this may be a silly question, but will a person with a standard tranny ever need/should change the tranny fluid. And mines 4WD so how about the differential fluid? (whatever its called)

Well, if you do a drian and fill... you only get out about 30 40% of the tranny fluid out, if you do a flush you get 90-100% out.

you can do the math

Uh yeah! Some people change the man tran fluid 30k, some 90k. If you drive it hard... I recc 30. If not, 90k should be AOK. Diff fluid rules pretty much pertain to the man trans.

This is like telling someone... "don't wash your hands because if you don't wash them properly it can make you sick" don't you think it would hurt MORE if you left them ALL inside?? Do the flush dude, standard or automatic, it's better for your transmission than leaving all the crap inside.
