Question Toyota Corolla d4d 90KM

Hello!

I have one question regarding RPM with my corolla. Enginee is d4d 90KM and car year 2002.

When enginee is cold (morning or when car is not running more hours) RPM are quite high. That means that RPM are about 1100 or 1200. Normaly they are 800-900.

RPM are high till enginee isn't warm enough. That is 70 degrees or more.

Is this position normal or there is something wrong?

Thank you for your answers.

Best regards,

Miha

p.s. Sorry for my english ...

Yes its normal in cold weather.. 1100-1200rpm is nothing.. my car goes 2000-2500rpm sometimes.. specially today is -10C outside. The car idles high to warm up the motor faster.
