AE92 GTS cooling system.. WTF!!

well I went to wallymart today to get my tires balanced and rotated and to get my cooling system flushed cuz I thought my coolant was dirty. The guy says it's gonna take about an hour, so I leave the car there and go inside to walk around and stuff. I come back about an hour later and the guy goes.. sorry sir we cannot do your cooling system flush! I'm thinking, Oh sh!t! whats wrong now? I just got the new rad done in the summer! then the guy says.. your car is equipped with DEXCOOL and we're not equiped to handle this kind of stuff.
I'm Like.. wtf is dexcool? he said it was an environmentally friendly coolant used on some imports and domestic cars.
WTF!! I never knew my car was equipped with this stuff, I never even knew there was such a thing! It almost looks like brake fluid, it's got a brownish greenish color to it, that's why I thought my coolant was old and dirty and the guy who changed my rad might have forgot to clean the reservoir, since I remember seeing it there before i got the new rad.
Anyone else's AE92 have this stuff in their cooling system?? or is it just my car?? I'm thinking the previous owner might have done this, but i'm not certain if I'm supposed to be even running this in my car. and BTW how much is a bottle of this stuff, like I said I've never seen it or even knew it existed!

It's not your typical fluorescent green stuff.. this stuff is like almost brownish-redish and its supposed to be environmentally friendly, kinda like the AC stuff that replaces freon.
I'm thinking it replaces the usual green stuff but I guess you would have to totally flush your system before changing over.
If your car has the usual stuff, then I'm guessing it was the previous owner of my car who was probably advised (or tricked, if this stuff is more expensive, LOL!) to change over.

oooo.. check this out.. I hope the previous owner did the change-over properly.. sounds like this dexcool stuff is pretty good, but expensive :x

http://www.mstechinc.com/dexcool.htm

and I think I contaminated it, cuz I put a little bit of green stuff on it before :x but now I know why my car seems to run at COLD all the time.. hehehe.. it never even goes over a quarter on the gauge.

"NEVER mix conventional anti-freeze or conventional cooling system additives with Dex-Cool. If by mistake conventional anti-freeze coolant or cooling system additives are added to Dex-Cool, the cooling system must be flushed thoroughly with clean tap water and the Dex-Cool replaced"

oooooh you gotta replace the DEXCOOL now

well from the article it seems you have 2 options...

1) continue buying expensive DEXCOOL
2) completely flush flush flush and switch back to normal antifreeze coolant

From what the page I posted says, it started back in 1995. I think the page itself is a few years old now.. cuz apparently a lot of newer cars are coming with it from the factory. and yeah this stuff is redish orange brownish, not green like the old cars I'm used to.

AHAHAHAHA check what this other page says..

Another way to ensure longer life of parts and get better corrosion protection is to make sure you USE DISTILLED WATER when mixing with antifreeze. By just using regular tap water you contaminate the new Dexcool and drastically lower the corrosion protection. Distilled water barely costs 79¢ a gallon in my area. So there's no excuse for spending $7.99/gallon on Dexcool and then ruining it because you're too lazy to add 79¢ a gallon distilled water to it.

well.. after reading a few pages on Dexcool I realized one thing.. it has to be always at full level if you let it go too low, rust-like chit forms in your system and you get failure.. other than that it doesn't have to be replaced/flushed for about 100,000km (my bad! :x ) if it's run in a proper manner.

I'm gonna buy a bottle of this stuff tomorrow, and try to see how much it will cost me to flush and replace.
