to buy or not for $500!?!

here's the scoop...1994 corolla...don't even know what model..don't really care.. just looking for a reliable car for family member. also i'm buying from a co=worker so all known info will be divulged. she said it needs a new windshield(crack), needs an "ignition" although car does start (go figure) and a window dosen't go up or down. car hasen't be registered since June 05..and had a ticket not paid for for $170. What do you guys think...i've already called a glass company and got quoted $240 for windshield installed.

so basically, are these cars easy to work on? would you buy? i'll work on cars not a problem. anyone know about how much it'll be to register it and about that ticket? oh and i'm in california. thanks!

yeah i would, u'd also need to know how many miles are on it, prev accidents etc

great...i'm pretty sure no accidents.. don't know milage however..but i'd be doing timing belt and all that anyway. anyone know how much i'd be paying for registration and that ticket?

oh and of course, it's only reliable if the prev owner took good care of it
in terms of on time maintenance and what not

for $500 i can replace alot of items that need it. I'm REALLY not THAT worried of that aspect...just the darn fees. but i see your point.
