hey everyone. i was being a dumb ass and hit a curb. (dont ask) Anyways i messed up some things on the passenger side. I'm pretty sure its the cv joint thats F'd and maybe the tie rod.
Right now i need to take the rotor off. However when i tried to take the cotter pin out, it just snapped off on both sides. I've tried using WD-40 and using a punch set. All that did was make the pin bubble over. I tried cutting what was left of the pin off w. a drummel tool.(no luck)

Firslty you don't need to get that nut off to remove the brake rotor, to get it off you just take the wheel nuts off, there will be a screw through the rotor into the hub, take that out, then unbolt the brake caliper, the disc will slide out.
Anyway to get that nut of (they are usually a 21mm) you need to get that split pin out, Fold up those 2 bits you can see in the photo so they are parellel then pull the pin through from the otherside.

if i drive straight and let go off the wheel i take a sharp left. ill take a look at what you are saying, but i will need to get everything off the axle to replace the cv joint.
there are 6 bolts that you need to take off total.
and i believe you've already taken them off since you got as far as the centre pin.
4 of them are from the wheel.
2 of them are from the caliper. i dunno about usually being 21mm, maybe it's different down south, but most japanese cars i've seen are 17mm for the 2 caliper bolts.
other than that, just take a rubber mallet and start hammering the rotor evening from side to side, it will come off, there is nothing holding it on other than rust to the hub.

That sounds like just wheel alignment, CV joints will make a knocking noise when turning, they won't pull the steering wheel.
well, are you sure your rim is not bent?? CHECK AGAIN!, i hit a curb and bent my rim, i posted a thread on here a while back
lol- i trashed my rim. its sitting in my garage. I have an extra wheel, so im ok in that aspect. As far as the size of that nut, im not talking about the caliper. im talking about the thin nut right in front of the axle nut.
i got some new drummel bits, and i drilled out alot of the cotter pin, i just need a decent socket. I think it might be a 33 mm, im not sure. Anyone know where i can get one? Sears and Auto Zone didnt have any.
If the CV boot is not busted you more than likely do not ahve any problems with the CV axxle itself. Hitting a curb will screw up your alignment and cause the car to veer to one side of the road or another. YOu probably need to take it to an alignment shop and let them take a look at it. THey can tell you what is wrong and then you can fix it your self. Depending on how hard you hit the curb you could have damaged one or more of these parts, wheel bearing, bent the strut, tie rod, lower ball joint, damaged lower control arm,or damaged upper strut mount. THere are other things you could ahve done but those are the most common things that go bad when you hit a curb. YOu might be pissed if you go repalcing the CV axle and then it is not the problem. YOu would hate to spend money on something you dont really need to. I would be looking for bent parts before doing the axle.

thnx, guys i cant see much of whats bent becauce of the rotor n all in the way. so ill probably take that stuff off just to see whats wrong. all i have is a mini sears jack.
