My Reverse Lights Do Not Work

My reverse lights do not work. All the colored fuses ok. My clock doesn't work but dunno if it's related.

Also I see that the 80AMP fuse by the battery, is dark brown colored but isn't blown. The rest of the battery fuse look light colored copper color.

I am wondering is that normal or is it dead? could that be the problem? but its not blown just dark colored, could it be restricting current? I tried removing it, but it's stuck, so any ideas removing it?

What is the 80amp fuse for anywayz? oh so many questions... :-?

80amp fuse is probably for the starter. But I suspect that the switch for the reverse lights has broken, its at the base of the gearshifter.

I fixed the same problem on my car..

put your car up on jack stands....

crawl underneath and find the wire that connects to the top of the tranny... I think it's kind of on the drivers side a little.. it's pretty easy to find it's the only wire. It should be a double wire, and it just pushes on to two prongs. It could be corroded so bad that you will need a new connector. Clean up the prongs really well, and clean up or replace the connector ..that should take care of it.

damn i don't have jack stands  , want a ramp though.
i change the oil 'n stuff without lifting the car up, I have long arms, but pulling up on the edge drive way so the car tilts helps.

anyway i can get to it without lifting?

if i can't, oh well, i'll just have to live with it.

on the subjects of reverse lights :P I heard someone When they smoke their oppnents, leaving them seeing their rear end, a they put a switch on the dash so you can flip on the reverse lights. Leaving the suckas saying, "What the F  ck?! " ha ha, funny i thought.

I only heard about turning on your hazards. But umm I think you can access the switch from above, atleast the gear shifter doesnt go through the floor (atleast on an AE92)

Did your bulbs work before..

I'd suggest you take out the rear socket holder for the tailights and clean all the sockets with a metal brush.. These cars are notoroius for leaking water from on top of the tailights and then it leads to having moisture and water in the tailights.. So you're sockets might be corruded... try that out..
