Batt died at idle

was dropping my buddy off and we got talking with the car running had the

-heater fan
-headlights
-foglights
-rear defrost
-and stereo on

went to pull out car stalled then was almost completely dead. went to school when i came out it was fine again. this same thing has happeded a couple times before. My guess is that i was drawing more power than the alternator can make thus temporarily draining the batt?

Is the alternator supposed to charge the battery at idle? things go dimmer at idle always have does the alternator need replacing??

I had the same problem on my old Neon. Went to school, came out to come home, went to start it, nothing. Got a jump start with jumper cables, got it home and got a new battery put in next day. They did check the alternator and it was fine.

I would bring it somewhere, have them check the alternator and battery. Problly should not run radio and fogs as this will drain the battery more until you find out whats wrong.

Yeah, its because your altenator is only so stong, it cant power all of those, especially on idle. It just wont give out that much juice.
