92 Corolla Tranny swap

In 92 I bought my daughter a 92 Corolla, 1.6 and the 3 speed auto...Now at 160k miles later I have the car back and I'm using it as a daily driver. I wish i had gotten a 5 speed or at least the 4 speed auto, as this car much be turning about 3500 at 70 mph on the highway where most of my driving is done. Can the 4 speed auto swap with any major mods....Does the ECU and axle shafts have to be changed also...I even thought about a different engine if i had to swap the tranny...Also what other engines will swap? Would taller tires help any currently it has 185/75/13

Hello
Don't know about the tranny ordeal, but I do believe that you will have to use which ever ECU that goes w/ the tranny and head. (not 100% sure)
As for the engines 4ag 16v, 4agze (supercharged), 4ag 20v, 3sgte.
The only other tire size that I know you can fit is a 195 70 r13.
Hope this helps alittle.
C-YA!!

the 4A-GZE clutch is too big for the C52 tranny. But using the 4A-GE clutch it SHOULD fit in, but I'm not 100% sure about the bolt patterns.
