1989 SR5. I just picked up the GTS secondary gauges (nest to the clock) and the dash clock on ebay. I see there are wires behind there, but will I have to change anything or replace sending units or anything like that?
I think everything should be there I dunno about the Oil pressure and voltmeter tho? The clock will ft right in for sure the gauges as well, did the sr5 come with a spot for the volt/oil pressure gauges? Can you show me a pic of an sr5 dash?
The gauges are separate. The SR5 didn't have them, but since it is the same dash as the GTS it has the spot for them, which right now has an oil light and a door ajar light ( the GTS main cluster has the door ajar light, which I am yet to wire up.)
I'll get a pic soon as I can. Here are pics of the items I won:
I see the connectors there in the car... but I don't know if the wires go anywhere! I think the least I'll have to do is change the oil pressure sending unit, since I just have an idiot light now, and get the GTS version for the gauge.
umm why don't you have the clock? what else goes there? my 1989 sr5 has the clock... I tried to put the oil gauge and voltmeter in but couldn't find the plug for it in the dash so figured meh.
you would need the harness since I don't think our sr5 one has the plug for the oil and volt meters. I say just install some aftermarket ones. 30 at canadian tire for 3 gauges, water, volt, and oil. although I haven't a clue how to hook them up lol
Well, wires don't seem to do anything... so, clock wiring harness was there and works great, but no wires for the gauges... guess I'll have to find a GTS and take the harness out of it!
