No gas? maybe your fuel pump is dead.

Starter or Battery, try charging the battery and trying again, also check the alternator, an easy way to do this is to get your charging system checked

^ If the engine is turning over, then they are all ok.

It could be fuel, but check to make sure you have spark first. If the spark is good, check the fuel related fuses, before you haul out the pump. You should be able to smell gas, if the car hasn't started after prolonged cranking.

Try giving it a shot of starting fluid. If it immediately fires, runs and then stalls you have a fuel delivery problem (clogged fuel filter, no power to fuel pump or bad pump). If it doesn't run with starting fluid then you have no ignition (bad plugs, distrib.cap and wires or defective coil)

Considering you have a good strong spark and fuel.

Then it might be just flooded. Let it sit awhile or just clean/replace plugs.

the battery/brake light issue sound like what was going on when my fuel pump was bad. i would start with a test light by back tapping the harness going to the pump. have someone crank it and see if you get fire in that line while the engine is cranking. as long as it's turning over fine there shouldn't be anyhting wrong with the starting system, but do check on you ignition system, make sure you have spark going to the plugs. If you do wind up with a bad pump though it's just $100 and an afternoon of your time. these things have internal filters too. very tricky and dangerous if you don't know what your doing. just remember to leave no oxygen in the tank!

this is gonna sound stupid but this actually did happen to me. my car did the exact same thing, so just for the hell of it, i removed the air filter and found it to be totally clogged with dirt and debris. after a thorough cleaning, the car ran fine. im not saying this is your problem sleepie, but it worked for me. good luck bro

Well.. i woke up one morning thinking i would start checking all those things myself.. but my dad already called the towing people over.. and they towed my car.. haha.. to the shop that is. But they fixed multiple problems for me.. new starter.. new alternator.. and for some reason.. i think they said the main problem was my "distributor cap" that didn't allow my car to start properly.. but they fixed it and my car seems to be running fine now.. =D

Ouch! It sounds like the only problem you had was a bad cap, that caused you to have no spark. The fact that you said that it was turning over fine, leads me to beleive that you got ripped off on the starter and alternator.

Well.. my car had multiple problems.. battery/brake lights went on.. car wouldn't charge battery (alternator problem) and the car took forever to start on some mornings.. even with a jumpstart.. so all in all.. the parts they replaced all helped to make my car run better once again =D.. so i don't think i got ripped off at all. But it did cost $350 for everything =[
