S vs LE?

I can find infinite parts available for the 01-02 Corolla S but not the LE... every part i find specifically states for S only. what is the major differences between the two cars? i've heard that the S has the celica engine but is tuned down to match power levels of the CE/LE's. can a 'S' intake be used on an LE? Are most parts interchangeable?

Thanks,
Black Ice FX

The S is just the LE with a different exterior, different wheels, and maybe different seats or something. Same motor and tranny options. They have the 1zz motor.

The Celica GT is the same as the Corolla S or LE. The Celica GT-S shares it's 2zz motor and 6 spd tranny with the Corolla XRS.

If you want to see some nice modified 9th gen corollas, go to 9th gen corolla .com (no spaces).

Outside of the different body trim the S has a black/charcoal interior, black leather wheel cover and shifter, red lite dash, all not available on the LE....the LE has a option wood grain trim, variable intermittent whipers and I believe a 60/40 rear seat that the S hasn't....probably missed a few Oh you might not be able to get the total "sports package" with the LE Sun roof/spoiler........~Radd Guy~

Yes CE, LE and S powertrain and everything is identical with the exception of cosmetic differences inside and out.

However, Throttle body on the XRS is a lot bigger than other Corolla models because of the 2ZZ GE Celica GTS engine.

Yeah but the motor in the Lotus Elise is the motor from the Corolla and Matrix XRS and the Celica GTS.

Which one came first? the chicken or the egg.
