Yes, definately get filters.
Its not the big particles, its the dust and microparticles that really wear it out.
Pipercross makes filtersocks you tighten with zipties, they're great and cheap.

well 8x8 is the original firmware...... you can easily upgrade it to a 12x12..... since it is MS it's all 'freeware' and i haven't seen anything software based that costs anything.... there are some very knowledgable people building code for them, so i wouldn't be surprised if a 16x16 is out yet

Yup, 8x8 is the basic setup and that just plain sucks, some folks at the motorsports circles I work in have complained and gone from MS to Hestec/Haltech/Motec systems, because the 8x8 map is very limiting.
