USA celica front /rear disc conversion for corolla

a little info for those of you with 93-97 corollas if you want better braking power you can take the entire brake setup from a celica gt-s 90-93 and put it on your corollas i did it when i swaped my 7afe for a 4age from a 91 prism gsi (I know what your all thinking) but it is a toyota engine and the interesting thing was that this was the only 4age issued engine that was map sensored crazy uh. the reason i went with a ceilca is because the celica GT-S have bigger rotor than the GT . then i bought some 2001 celica GT-s rims and it fits and look awesome: not to mention how excellent it brakes. I would post pic but im still new to the forum and don't know how to do it yet if anyone cud help me with that it'll be appreciated

You can email the pics to me for hosting. drtweak@phoenixtuning.com

In order to do the conversion on the front, you need the hub from the Celica and you need to have a shop with a press replace it. Then you can use the rotor, caliper, and wheel from the Celica. For the rear, you need the hub assembly and backing plate with parking brake parts. Then the bolts for hub assembly and backing plate have to be drilled out a little to make it fit. Once that's done, the hole for the parking brake cable bracket has to be drilled out a little, and usually the cable has to be shortened. Then all the Celica rear disc parts can be used, and of course, you need the wheels too.

Just wanted to clarify that it's not just a bolt-on process, unless you did it differently. I've done this a couple times.

please post pics... you can use this to host the images:

if it can stop harder than my drilled/slotted brembos and TRD pads, i'm definately interested. it will be better for superlap.

to DR. TWEAK i forgot to also say that you need the brake booster from either a prism gsi which was the donor car for my swap or one from a corolla gt-s the stock corolla brake booster is not for four wheel disc brakes. and you enlighting me about using the hubs and putting it in the corolla spindle. However i used the either celica 90-93 factory setup and the only problem i had was that the lower ball joint that was form the corolla didn't fit the celica's spindle but what i did to overcome this problem was use some metal shims to fill the gap then i put on the castle nut a it fit perfect and for the brake cable i dont shorting it at all. All i did was buy some springs from my local ACE hardware store and placed it between the brake cable and backing plate it may not be as good as yours but it works great, but like i said i'll look into your front setup even though i have not had any problems with mine yet. And I'll post pic too can you also post pic of your setup so other coroola fans can see. thanx.
