3rd Generation ae86 rear end differential fit on te72

well.... i was hoping to find out if a ae86 rearend would fit on a 1982 te72 wagon......
i think it would but would need a bit of whelding right? but iono... help plz

You can fit anything on with a bit of work.. the most common upgrade for the AE86 guys is the Supra rear-end, so I imagine it would be easy to fit it to the TE72s as they're basically the same as the AE86s.

Try going to toyota3tc.com I'm sure they would have more answers to your questions.

it should fit even if the wagon uses leaf springs. a friend of mine with a 78 Corolla uses an AE86 rear end.

Most popular rear axle swap in finland for the KE70/AE86/etc rwd corollas is a Hiace or Hilux axles, the diffrential will take a lot more beating than a AE86 axle and it should fit with minor modification.

Hilux rear ends are not common in North America though.
