Lightbulb 88 Corolla sticky # 1 valve

Hey guys and gals, well I think I got down to what the problem is as far as when it chugs at warm-up, well the #1 intake valve is sticking until it warms up alittle then runs smooth, but my question is, on the 88 Corolla, 1.6 4 cyl. are the valves adjustable, and is it expensive?

Thanks, Terry

Yes, with shims. Yes it can be expensive, but are you sure its #1 valve? and also maybe theres something else wrong than just adjustment.

still doesnt explain a sticky valve. one plug being black is normal in carb 4A-F's if the carb accelerator pump diaphragm is broken.

If I have a carb problem like that, it will only chug like that until it gets warm to a certain temp. and once it warms up it will run smoothly like normal, is it still a carb problem??
