That's a copy of the Mugen exhaust for Civic EF hatchbacks, an older design (about early 90s I'd say) but still good, it worked for the Civics but who knows if they actually copied the whole design. I can't remember how the design worked though.. its been a while since I owned a Civic and wanted one of those.

Well it should tone down the noise a bit, as it functions sort of like a chambered muffler.

lloks kinda cool, but as for effectiveness.. i have my doubts. Why would it re-circulate? I would assume it would be for noise dampening, but hell the muffler itself does that? Plus that seems like it would cause alot of resistance..

i'm willing to bet that the muffler is actually seperated in the middle by a divider. The exhaust runs down one way, through that loop, then through the other side and out. I'm guessing if it does that, then you can probably eliminate another resonator (for instance, like some suabru's that have a cat, 2 resonators, and a muffler) to eliminate exhaust sound & keep it legal.

Looks like a variation of a stock muffler where the loop going back is outside the chamber. A little noisier than stock.
