corolla S a victim of snow

my baby had a run in with a curb
i was going about 40km/h when i had to brake, the car slide to the right towards a curb at about a 45 degree angle (front first), so i knew it was gonna hit for sure, but i also knew my corolla has side skirts, so i turned my tire to take the impact and BAM!...........

end result....one fuked rim.
anyone the aprox. cost to fil & sand down a rim?

sad sad sad!
remember guys.. DRIVE SLOW IN SNOW!

Ouch man! You should of released the brake in the turn after slowing down, it would of then turned properly in the corner.

I drive fast in snow ;D

you hit the kerb at a 45 degree angle at 40km/h?
i'd check our ur suspension components
something might be damaged
cuz 40km/h is fast enough to bend =(
good luck bro

its kinda hard to tell what speed you hit the curb at, so maybe (hopefully) you were going slower than you thought. But yeah, if you hit at 40 km/h you should check your suspension/alignment. Or get it checked.

oh, sorry to hear that man.....

I remembered I bammed by old civic's rear wheel into a curb once in the snow, the steel rim was fvcked and has to be replace but luckily the alignment was ok, but it was much slower than 40km/h.....

your case was front so you better get your car checked, coz i think it is dangerous to drive in snow if your alignment is off balanced.

good luck man and keep us informed....

Sorry to hear dude. Ride on your spare for a while and maybe just grab a cheap steelie until you scrounge up enough cash for 17" blades

might as well put on 4 black steelies, matches your car and gives that agressive look

but above all you should get snow tires, winter is here for a while

Not really, this years winter wasn't bad at all, it only snowed 2 times, and we're already half way through, doubt things will get any worst (maybe a storm or two max). But, better safe than sorry.

how bad is the rim? bent or anything? I can give you the address of this place up here in oshawa.. they fix rims and do refinishing.. they fixed mine after i hit a bad pothole on the 401.. the lip looked pretty bad, and you could see the inside rim on the tires.. $50 cash to fix it. I'll see if I can find the address and phone # for ya.
