So here we are modding our car putting in some goodies in it and think it looks good, drives around looking for compliments. Then someone would say that your car is a "rice". So you'd go home with mixed emotions on what you did to your car.
What makes a car "rice" anyway? And are there any history on this term for us noobs?
BTW. I have no external mods on the car except for the paint and white bulbs in clear headlights .
man don't listen to any of them foos. If you do got rice you'll know later when you start learning more about cars but by that time maybe you don't have to worry anymore. I think yea it's all subjective, they just think your rides wack that's all. I don't use that word. If I did though I'd be using it at someone who doesn't know anything about cars or quality but just doing BS to it.
Like anyone who thought I was stupid for likeing the AE86 way back in 1994 or so I call their cars all rice, I don't care what they got. But now the way that car has hit the media and become trendy I could actually call that rice now if I'm in a bad mood. So I guess it's about taste... but I don't ever use that word.
but my word for living is don't waste your time and energy with other's opinions... just put all that effort toward your own project.
I'd say show cars are rice and cars that are all show no go, domestics are all rice, and cars that try to look fast while they are all stock, like someone who converts their civic to a rhd type r with everything cept then engine and they have the stock sohc engine.
meh I couldn't care. Not a fan of ppl who are all show and no go. BUt if they drove all fast and shit it wouldn't be so special when I did it hahaha. Really how ever the person wants their car to be is up to them. I don't have to drive it so w/e
true rice would be that fake turbo thing someone showed... steel rims? big deal a wheel is a wheel. it's not so much not having the motor. it's just doing the car for looks. I couldn't care if they kept the same motor if your going to hang out and act all cool back it up with some skill! Big motor doesn't = skill.
So
All show and no go = rice.
Mugen stickers on a Toyota = rice*
TRD sticker on a non-Toyota = rice*
GT Style wings on a car that doesn't require that kind of downforce = rice
* we have plenty of that in here.
Although I think that was what import racers were called in the haydays.
Then, when they became fast enough, they become rice rockets.
This is just out of curiosity now. And partly to kill some time.
rice is probably the looks aspect of my ae92..... i can take it, it's ok...... the headlights are from a car that wasn't even made by toyota... and the hood is multiple shades of white & the color of bondo..... and the corner lights don't even fit right (yet)
on the flipside..... it's one of the best handling cars i've driven/riden in & doesn't fair too badly in the straights.....

uhh... what? any generation rebuilt chev 305 or 350 would be at least 1/2 the price of a rebuilt 4age..... imports cost way more to build big power....

A poser car...
someone trying to make their lancer look like 2fast2furious..
I like the example of the Civic that's all Type R except the motor...
Or something just wack...
Like boybands are to music like rice are to cars.
Digital Racer, what are they driving? I'm suspecting you probably got something not as trite as what they got.

They're driving all sorts of sedans from Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan and Toyota. And they think they can interchange the stickers of Mazdaspeed, Ralliart, Nismo, TRD and Tom's. Some stickers are placed as windshield visors. And they all look and drive like stock.
Most of my mods are under the hood . Mostly bolt on performance parts. The outside is stock except for the paint and the headlights.
