Exhaust Temperature

Have to replace my muffler this weekend (on the '90), have some RTV gasket maker that is good up to 500 deg F.

Is this sufficient?

Thanks!

I know that the temps right behind the header on a n/a 1zz-fe at wide open throttle is about 800-900 degrees... not sure if the temps drop by 400 degrees at the muffler though??

Holy, didn't realize it was that high.
