pipe diameter size??

my car 7th gen corolla, ae102, how big would you go for the exhaust pipes? is 2 1/2" inches be too big for our 4 cylins.?? what about 2 1/4" inches?? its for the whole pipes from the cat converter to the muffler, my friend has i think 2 1/4" inches on his and he lost some good low end torque, thanks for any input

Well... how would an exhaust pipe affect handling? :P

Now I have 2" from the cat back and 2.5" to the cat.... since I'll be running forced induction.

On me ae92 with a 4afe I had 2.25" Exhaust piping.

I'm on 2". They say that if the pipe diameter is too big, it would result in a drop in pressure and increase in gas density making it a hard time for NA engines to push the exhaust gases.

Just a qusetion, why would you choke it up after the cat like that?? keeping thje pipe the same size over the whole exhaust is benifical for flow.

my friends scion runs 1.75 straight pipe. for corollas i say 2.0 is perfect.

im running a supercharger, intake and FULL exhaust with hi-flow cats/resonators... im running a 2.25" piping. JP designed the midpipe and 2.25 was teh most efficient for FI. 2" would probably be a bit better for N/A
