AE86 electrical/lighting issues

ok, 86 corolla gts. got a few issues i would like to ask for some advice on.

1. my passenger side headlight is considerably dimmer than the driver side. the lights are different brands so i assume the drivers side has been replaced. is it just the light or am i looking at bad wires or amps or something going to it.

2. the lights dim slightly when i hit the brakes. also turning the lights on and such cause a slight drop in idle rpm's. seems the lights are putting on a heavy load on the system. it does have an old battery so is it just the battery or something else i should check on.

3. the most annoying. sometimes the lights don't want to pop up or turn on. running lights work perfectly fine. sometimes the headlights work fine, other times they will pop up and not come on, and sometimes they wojn't even come up. hitting on the panel seems to cause them to come up if they are down, but then they won't turn on. if they come up on their own hitting on the panel makes them come on after a while. anyone got a suggestion. do i need to clean out the switch, get a new one or what.

thanks for any help!

umm my headlights are the same kind of thing on my car with one being dimmer, but thats because one is older. replace them both and then see

with 2 still does the same espcially when you turn the blower motor on! or when the rad fan comes on.

3 sounds like a relay or the switch might be done.

well now i have even bigger issues.
just when i batten down to start fixing this car up something bad happens again.
a guy in a little nissan bowed up and stopped in the middle of the highway going down a hill. this is a four lane highway which is already extremely dangerous. he stopped to turn right without a signal or much of any warning. the f-150 behind him tried stopping and only missed him because the guy finally got out of the way. i wasn't so lucky i cut right trying to avoid him but i clipped his bumper corner with the edge of my driver headlight. which in turn spun me around and made me put a dent in his fender. it had just started raining and was slick as shit. the guy was cool and just wants to go on about life and not worry about the minimal damage to his truck. as for me i get to try my hand at body work. i only have one headlight that will come up now. anyone got a parts car?
