USA 1998 Corolla Cruise is not working

I just bouhgt a 1998 Prizm (Corolla) and the cruise just went out. It worked fone for about 2 weeks, and now the cruise lights will not come on, and the system is not working at all.
I checked the fuse, ECU-1G 10A, and it is good. I even tried leaving hte fuse out for 10 minutes to reset the CC ECU, but it is still inop.

Has ANYONE experienced this problem before? I can not find a simple solution to this.
any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

i think theres something in the engine bay like a fusebox that says "cruise". check that. other than that, if your speedometer doesnt work, then crusie wont work either. thats all i know.

sxlostv1,
Thanks. I'll check that whenI get a chance. The speedo is working and so are the brake lights, so if that fuse or relay under the hood is not the fault, then I'm going to guess its the ECM for hte cruise, or the steering wheel conrtols.

BTW, how are the D2 coilovers doing?

d2 is pretty good . everyone that rides in it says it's hella stiff and they dont find it comfortable. my friends drive behind and next to me and all they see is my head bobbing to the bumps on the road :P . a little squeeky sometimes but i can live with it. good luck with the cruise control
