4age Trans!@!

ok i got a 97 corolla dx and im going to swap the 4age to it, hopefully the black top but i got an auto, do i have to get another transmission that can handle that kind of power, or it woudlnt matter which one i have????? of course im getting a trans engine but im just wondering if i have to change the trans too??????

Well if you want to use an auto.... dont bother with a swap yes there are some blacktops and silvertops that come with autos, but it wont be any fun. Also I dought your auto tranny would be strong enough, and it wont be shifting at the right points either(I think).

The big issue here is only the shifting in the wrong points. The transmission should probably handle the 4A-GE fine, since it'll likely shift before the engine starts making any power.

If you still wanna go with the 20V I'd say go with an Auto 20V that will come with the right transmission and the right auto ECU for the motor.
